Disney Movies

Disney is one of those childhood franchises that you can return to when you're older and not feel weird about it. Disney has touched many of us as most of us can list many of their movies. So I ranked my top 3 and said why I liked it:

1: The Lion King This movie is by far my favorite animated movie, let alone Disney movie. It uses so many different styles to attract so many different audiences. It has comedy through the characters of Timon and Puma. Its hero's struggles gives the audience so many reasons to root for him. The death of Mufasa is so deep that it brings tears to children and adults alike. I've watched this movie so many times that I could recite many lines from it.

2: Aladdin This movie became one of my favorites since i was 2 months old. It was the first movie I saw in theaters and my parents say I enjoyed it so much I didn't make a sound. My brother loved it more than I did. He would force my parents to reenact the movie at home. My dad would play the Genie/Jafar, my mom was Jasmine, Brandon was Aladdin, and I was Abu. It also has one of my favorite songs: "A Whole New World"

3: Hercules Hercules story is actually not my favorite. It departs so far away from the actual story of Hercules that it kind of got annoying to me. The only reason why I adore this movie is because of its music. Zero to Hero is so catchy and whenever Ii see that movie, that song is stuck in my head for at least a week. Also Gospel Truth and "Star is Born" are a few more fantastic songs.

Disney has impacted so many people around the world. These effects are different for each person. Mine mostly is the music. I can't get enough of it. Rank your top 3 Disney favorites if you like.

  1. Ryan I love this post. This is so true about Disney movies all together. Whether they're old classics or even the newer Disney movies that have came out in the past 5 years, they still bring a charm to all audiences alike.

My favorite Disney movie would definitely have to be The Lion King also. This was the first movie I saw in theaters and I could still watch it now and enjoy it. The story of family and the music in it is what I found most entertaining as I was little. I can now say that I love the characters still, especially Simone and Pumba.

Pinocchio is another Disney that I love. When I was little I did not catch on to all the humor that was put in it (like the scene when they're drinking, playing pool, and then turn into donkeys) but now it's even more comical to me because it's a classic Disney movie, that even adults can find humor in too.

Although Wall E is a fairly new Disney Pixar movie, I'd have to say it's my recent favorite. The movie altogether has great emotion in it and makes the audience feel that emotion just as Wall E does. It's also pretty funny how the new and improved life that all the humans are living makes them really fat and lazy, which is a good message I guess to send to people that exercise is needed since Americans are becoming overweight more and more. It's a great movie for kids and adults and if you have not seen it yet I'd strongly suggest it!

  2. My favorite Disney movie would have to be Winnie the Pooh. I know there have been many sequels and addition of new characters but the original Winnie the Pooh is exactly what an animated movie for children should be like, I feel. I watched this movie non-stop when I was younger and still can remember most of the lines. The movie is so up-beat that you can't help but like. Also, the characters are also very well done so it is impossible to not like any of them. This movie made a bunch of creaturs living in hundred acre wood relatable to three years old and this is what made the movie one of the best Disney movies of all time.

I agree with Sarah and Ryan that the Lion King is also one of the best Disney movies, which is why it is my second favorite. Just like Winnie the Pooh, Disney successfuly made animals in the savannah likeable and relatable to young children. The storytelling and characters make the film enjoyable for children but also for adults.

My third favorite Disney movie would have to be Lady and the Tramp. I had watched that film since I was very young, just like Winnie and the Pooh. The story of an unlikely pairing making, no matter if they are humans or dogs, is always appealing. I also always found myself rooting for Lady and the tramp making it through all the obstacles. It's a simple love story that all people enjoy watching no matter their age.
