Favorite James Bond Movie

In your opinion, what is your favorite James Bond movie you have ever seen? Could be from the 60s with Sean Connery or a more recent one with Daniel Craig (boo).

  2. I would have to agree with Taylor. In my mind Sean Connery is the only James Bond. He mixes suave urbanity with brutal violence: other Bonds had one or the other (and some neither) but not both. Also, the "updating" of the Bond character in later movies often turns Bond into a more moral but also more bland character. He is a product of the Cold War and the sexual revolution. In our age of terrorism where the villains are hiding in the mountains of Pakistan, James would be like a fish out of water.

  4. (i forgot to post my favorite movie before)
I must agree: Connery is the superior bond. Though I wouldn't hate on (per se) Craig too much, because he was great in Casino Royale... Quantum of Solace was just a disaster of a script and plot line. I just think that Connery perfectly encapsulates that casual cool and expertise that is James Bond, and nobody else can match it.
My favorite Bond movie is either Goldfinger or Dr. No (both, of course, with Connery). I liked the action of Dr. No more than Goldfinger, but I think that as a whole, Goldfinger made a lot more sense and was a better movie.

  5. My favorite James Bond movie of all time is a classic, Goldfinger. Its my favorite James Bond movie because to me it represents everything an action movie should be. Car chases, gunfights, close calls, and evil villains, it has them all. Out of all of those defining characteristics of the movie, the car chases stand out for me the most. This movie marked the beginning of the amazing gadgets that Bond consistently has in his car. He had machine guns, revolving license plates, an ejector seat, and a radar-type system. The gadgets make the car chase exciting, especially when bond ejects an enemy sitting in his passenger seat. The special effects used in the movie were groundbreaking at the time, and made the movie a lot more exciting to watch. Also, I truly think Sean Connery played the part of James Bond the best. His ability to woo any woman surrounding him with ease and his suave personality are common to James Bond movies nowadays, but Sean Connery portrayed those characteristics first. His immersion in the role and his suave personality truly shaped James Bond movies into what they are today, and that is the main reason why Goldfinger is my favorite James Bond movie to this date.

  6. I would probably have to say my personal favorite Bond movie is between Live and Let Die and GoldenEye (I really havn't seen that many to be honest). Live and Let Die was the first I'd seen and for some reason whenever I think of Bond the New Orleans funeral at the beginning of the movie pops into my head. Goldfinger is just like a part of my childhood. That movie was huge when I was young and along with spending hours over the N64 adaptation of the movie I feel that the movie has just become a part of my growing up. As for favorite Bond actor, Connery is definatly the top choice. The first time I saw Dr. No when he said "Bond, James Bond" the first time your like wow he's the collest man ever. Plus who else can pull off the tuxedo underneath the scuba suit...no one. But Pierce Brosnan is...well...c'mon...Pierce Brosnan...

  7. My favorite James Bond is Sean Connery, especially in Thunderball. Sean Connery comes off as the perfect incarnation of the Bond character, he's classy, charming, and dangerous in just the perfect amounts. While Daniel Craig comes off as too cold and callous, Connery kills with charm, and engages the viewer. Although his actions are sometimes morally questionable, your always rooting for Sean. Plus, he's just a badass in Thunderball, he's getting girls and nailing bad guys to trees with a harpoon gun............ a harpoon gun. You can't top that Pierce Brosnan, and don't even get me started on Roger Moore.
